My Damask Wall

I have wanted to do this wall in a damask wallpaper print for a while now.  Well, I decided I didn't want to spend the money on wallpaper and decided to figure something else out.

So I decided on a stencil which I got at Hobby Lobby and then I used a very high gloss paint.  I love how it has a sheen in the light.   I'm LOVIN IT!

I loved it so much I had to do a second wall :)

DIY Metal Tiles

I'm back!!  I went on a vaca to see my daughter in Virginia.  Now I'm back wanting to do all kinds of projects.  We will see if my body obeys my mind :)  It seems I always need a vacation after my vacation lol.

Before I left I decided to do this project.  I have been wanting the metal tiles to go behind my stove for a while now but didn't have the funds to get them.  So I had been thinking how could I diy these.  A friend of mine gave me her left over wallpaper.  And then the idea was born, as I said to my hubby I know what I am going to do with this.   Maybe I get a crazed look in my eyes, I don't know, he always looks scared when I say that! :)

Well before I left we did still have quite a bit of snow in our yard, but not to be deterred I went out with my strip of walllpaper and polished nickel spray paint.  I layed my strip on top of the snow (thinking this is good I wont get paint on the lawn)  And I sprayed away, just as a wind came along and this is no joke the piece flew up on my face and literally stuck on on the front of me.  Then I hear histerical laughing from in the house.  Yeh he was watching form the window!

I then got smarter and weighted it down (after I cleaned up).  I brought it inside to dry and then put it up behind my stove.  I love it!!  My friend didn't believe me that it was sprayed wallpaper.  I had to show her where it didn't stick down real good for her to believe me.  Now I have to decide wether to continue all the way around or not hmmmm.

DIY Apothacary Jar

When I was in Indiana helping my daughter, I was using her much faster internet, (the baby was sleeping and mom was resting)  I found so many decorating blogs I hadn't discovered yet.  When I told my husband this he just gave me the look of, Great now she will have even more ideas, lol.  He is right!! He complains but I know secretly he loves it!! lol

Anyways I came across all the apothacary jars being made.  And then when I discovered how easy they were, boy did I get excited.  I started planning how I could fit in a thrift store run.  I didn't know how my daughter would think that would be helping her.  Well she needed groceries, yep you know it the wheels started turning.  I graciously offered to take my two year old grandaughter shopping the next day.  Now granted the thrift store is not her favorite but I told her the toy store would be next, (toy store being the Dollar Store which she loves).  I don't think of this as bribery I think of it as a good opportunity to teach her frugality!

So off to the thrift store we went.  As we were looking through the glassware I found a vase that would go  perfectly on a glass candlestick I had at home.  It was marked sixty cents and then half off.  And then I thought I needed a top for it so we looked for jars with tops I tried a couple on my jar I already had and the second one looked perfect so I put that jar in the cart, fourty cents and then half off, see I am teaching her frugality.

For fifty cents I got my jar, spent time with my grandaughter, and saved my husband a project because this is one I didn't need his help on :)  But there always is a next time!!

Oh and we did get the groceries.

My daughters birthday was this past weekend.  So I spent a couple days last week creating some gifts for her.

I made her two of these cupboard doors to hold her pics with.  She has been wanting to do a galllery wall and I thought these would make a nice start.  She seemed to really like them and they were so fun to make.

More Spring decorating.  And yes that is an Easter bunny you see peeking out of the basket on the left.  His carrots are in the other basket. :)

I don't decorate for St. Patricks Day and so I decided to add a little Easter to my spring decor, they go together right?

Spring Decorating

I don't know what it is but I have been arranging and rearranging around the house this week. I think despite the weather outside I have Spring fever!!!

So I am in denial of what is going on out there and am starting to decorate for Spring. I love all the colors of Spring and Summer they go perfect with what I like to decorate with.

This is my pantry door in my kitchen, I love decorating this for the seasons.
