Made over porch post
I found this porch post at a yard sale and knew I could do something with it. I cut the top part off, I know I hated doing it but I wanted it to fit in my house. I put a base on it and attached a bird house on the top. It still needed something, because I put it in a corner I wanted it to have light. So I put an electric candle in it.
I had an old garden gate laying outside that I cleaned up and put on the front and decorated that. I hung a metal cone from the front and put roses in it.
This is fun to decorate for the seasons I always put something different inside the birdhouse. Snowman for winter, pumpkin for fall and a bunny for Easter :)

Re purposed bottles
These are some bottles I had picked up for .49 at the thrift store. I wanted to add something to them. I found a graphic I liked online and printed them off. And antiqued it. Then I mod podged them on and tied some lace aroound the tops and some ribbon. One I added some bling too.
And the other one I just used the lace and ribbon:
I do love them for hold little flower bouquets.

Re purposed books
I have been seen the re purposed books all over blog land and have been dying to make some. I just wasn't sure how I wanted to do them. I thought about painting them or just leave them without a cover and then decorate. But then I went to Michaels and seen this wonderful pink flocked paper and in my favorite print damask. Of course I could not resist.
First I ripped off the covers of two books I had gotten at a thrift store. And then I traced and glued the paper onto the top book.
And then I put some tea dyed vintage lace I had and some ribbon and tied it around the books. And then I added some bling.
I thought it looked so pretty but I had a silk rose I thought I might add too.
I really love how this turned out. Now I will have to make some for my daughters in their colors. I'll show you updates as I get them done.

Repurposed valances
I was searching for some sheer fabric to make some new valances for my dining room. Then I realized I had some sheers hanging in the guest room and I wanted to redo that room anyway so why not steal the panels from in there and make my new valances. So I did :) I started cutting, when my hubby walked in he started to say why are you cutting up perfectly good curtains he only got out the why and then said I'm not going to ask. He is soo good lol. After I made a mess I sewed a pocket for each rod and then I sewed two different poofs I wanted them to look a little ruffled and poofy so I sewed the poofs together and then just tucked up and in wherever I wanted more poof.
The I had my darling daughter from http://www.frugallymindedhomemaker.com/ make me some rosettes to put on them.. She made me three very large ones and then put a small pearl in the center of each one. They made them look so pretty.
My daughter has her link for her etsy shop where she sells these and other types of rosette projects on her blog.
