I thought I would give you a little Christmas tour of my home.  We have had so much fun decorating this year.  We wanted to get it done early and then enjoy quiet times to reflect on all our blessings and the reason for the season.  We are so thankful to the Lord for all he has done.   I was able to get some projects done this year.  I had a diy weekend, I must have needed to vent and that is how it came out.  And most of the projects actually turned out and I'm loving them.  I won't mention the ones that didn't lol.

I like my snowflake pillows, they literally cost me five dollars total to make.  I purchased the felt on 70% off and bought the snowflakes at the dollar store.  They seem to pop on the sofa.

Have a Merry Christmas!!!!  Enjoy time spent with family and friends.  And remember the Savior that was born that day just because he loved us.

Ornament Tree

Hi today I am sharing my ornament tree I made.  I seen some of these on Pinterest and just loved each one.  I didn't have a pallet like all the ones I seen.  But I didn't know if I wanted one that big anyway being as I have a small home.  I just took three slats of wood I had leftover from another project and nailed them together from the back.

Then I drew my rectangle on the wood and started just gluing the ornamnts on.  It is kind of like a puzzle you just keep gluing and moving the different sizes and colors around.

This is before I found what I wanted for the trunk.

And after I figured out what I was going to use.  Just some bark paper with a little glitter on it.

I just love this it's so pretty the photos do not do it justice.
Have a Blessed and relaxing Thanksgiving Day.  Enjoy your family and all the blessings God has given you this year.

One sweater , Four projects

I don't know about you, but I have been getting ready for the holidays.  My hubby wanted to decorate early for Christmas so we have been busy doing that.
And I have been gettin my craft on :), seriously I haven't done craft projects in quite a while.  It's been fun!!

I bought a sweater at goodwill recently for $1.99 that I thought would make a cool pillow for winter.  And then I had leftovers so I was able to make a wreath, candles sleeves and an ornament from the same material.  Here is the sweater minus the sleeves already cut off:

Here is the pillow on the couch:

And here are the candle sleeves, I even able to use the buttons off the sweater.  I love repurposing.

And here is the wreath.  I was able to find things I already had to decorate it.

And finally the ornament.
I am going to tuck it in my wooden box
my hubby made me on the table.

I have a few more projects I have been working on too that I will post soon.  We are so ready to start celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.  Especially since my hubbys biopsy came back with zero rejection for the heart this time.  No hospital stay during the holidays this year.  God is so good!!
Have a wonderful day!!!

I found this cool birch paper roll at Jo Ann Fabrics the other day. I didn't know what I was going to use it for but I had a 60% off coupon and had to use it on something. :)

So I waited and shopped my home for something to cover.  this is what I found.

I just wrapped the paper around the painted jar, which I had previously painted in cream chalk paint and distressed.  Hot glued the paper and then tied the jute string that actually came with the paper around the jar and hot glued a small pinecone to it.  I added some of my boxwood stems to the inside.  I love how real the paper looks and feels.  It has some patches of moss on it too.

I hope you like it I think I will add some glitter to it for the holidays.  You know you can't have too much glitter :)

God's special gifts

This was the view from looking down my driveway today.  The sun was coming across the woods and just looking so peaceful.. I am so thankful the Lord gives us these little gifts to enjoy.  We just need to take the time to stop and look and see His glory.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will be glad and rejoice in it. Psalm 118:24

I am thankful I slowed down and took the time to see what he was giving me today.  I confess I don't always do that. I get in a hurry running here and there and forget to just stop and look for Him.  I hope you take the time today to just look for the little things in life he might be showing you to give you comfort and a smile.

Have a blessed day!!

Farmhouse look for Chandelier

I have been wanting to change up my light in the dining room, I just could not afford what I would really like.  As I was putting away my garden fencing for the year I got looking at it in a new light.
I love the curves, the patina and thougth ther might be a way.  Hmm so I went to my favorite idea site Pinterest and started investigating.  I found a couple of sites where they had used the fencing, and then I just put my own spin on it.

This is the before of the light:

This is the after:

Another view, I just folded over the prongy things, and just set them on the light bases. I had it tight enough I don't think it will budge.  Then I wanted to add something to it so I got some burlap with lace and just weaved that in and out.

I really like it.  I think it will be fun decorating it for the holidays!! :)

Another very simple DIY Fall decor

I had this frame that has a Christmas saying on it.  I love the frame and was always sad that it can only be displayed  for a little bit out of the year.

And I had this half pumpkin from Michaels craft store what is a girl to do?

As I am sitting on the couch staring at this frame it
came to me.  I know it does take a while most of the time,
My husband got scared because I jumped up and said
"I have an idea"  he said Oh no what is it?
This one died not involve any of his talents
much to his relief.

And then I take the pumpkin off for the
Holiday season and come up with
something else for after Christmas.

A DIY Nature Fall Candle

I had this large round vase, candle holder thingy, I'm being technical lol.  I wanted to give it some texture and dress it up to go with my other Fall decor.  Hopefully to go on my new to me sofa table I am in the middle of making.  A DIY coming soon on that, if it turns out hmmm.  As you can tell it's giving me troubles :(
My supplies:

Along with a bag of treasures like acorns,
pinecones and leaves my grandchildren
gathered for me on their treasure hunt yesterday.

A quick DIY and I like it.  I know it's simple
but that is what I am liking this season.

My verse that stood out to me this
 morning in my devotions.
This I recall to my mind,
therefore have I hope.  Lamentations 3:21

I am so thankful for Hope it is my favorite word.  It kept coming up in conversations and in my devotions a lot during my husband's transplant time.  I kept hanging on to that one word that meant soo much to me.

Orange to white and gray

I had some not so pretty pumpkins I wanted to brighten up.  I wanted more neutral looking fall decor inside the home.
Here is the before,

And the after, blending much better with my decor.  It is amazing what a little paint and spongebrush can do.  I used chalk paint from Joann Fabrics and some I found at Walmart.

Have a Happy Day!!!

Fall outside

Here is some of my outside Fall decor.  I have to get some white pumpkins and cinderella pumpkins yet.  I will be on the search much to my husband's dismay. He really doesn't see the need to decorate for Fall outside he is more into the Christmas decorating but he tolerates it for me. :)

Touches of Fall on the porch:

Some old lanterns I had I painted gray and added decor.

My Summer flowers still hanging on with all this warm weather we are still having.

Another lantern

My sunflowers are doing great this year, even getting planted extremely late and not much attention.

Hope you enjoyed the pics.  Have a great  weekend!

For Thou wilt light my candle; the Lord God will enlighten my  darkness.  Psalm 18:28

This verse was one I read this morning and it just encouraged me I hope it does you today too.  Have a wonderful day!

Little bits of Fall around the house

I have been setting out a little more Fall around the house.  I don't really do the orange too much inside.  I like to keep it more neutral, now outside I am doing more color, more on that at a later post.
This is a stick on from the Dollar Store that I put on a canvas I washed in some gray paint.     We love the saying especially after our last year :)

My coffee table made out of an old trunk got a little Fall on too.

A lttle vignette on my iron birdbath

My trough my hubby built me last year before he got so sick.

Filled with some cotton plant I found at Michaels. Dollar store leaf garlands and some sweater pumpkins.

I tried to go a little rustic glam with my fall decorating with the mercury glass pumpkins and rustic wood.
Thank you so much for visiting, It makes my day.
